• Dr. Walter "Den" Burnside

  Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and Chairman

  Dr. Burnside is an Emeritus Professor, with several decades of service at the Ohio State University (OSU), and is the former Director of the world famous ElectroScience Laboratory (ESL) at the University. The ESL became one of the world's leading University Radio Frequency (RF) research and development facilities and has developed many very complex radar systems used by the US military, industry and NASA. For his defense efforts, Dr. Burnside was awarded the NASA Distinguished Public Service Award, which is the highest award given by NASA to a non-employee. Dr. Burnside is also recognized for the developments of the dominant wireless concealment system used in the U.S, creation of the Wildblue ground terminal antenna system and the invention of unique low-cost, high performance RFID item-level antennas and reader subsystems. Dr. Burnside earned his BSEE and MSEE in 1968 and his Ph.D. in 1972 all from OSU.

• Barry Burnside

  NeWave Board Member

  Barry brings in-depth sales, marketing and general management experience to NeWave's leadership team. He currently serves as the Managing Director, International Consulting for Pastiche, LLC, providing guidance on international partnerships, acquisitions, and business strategies. Prior to consulting, Barry was with the Bristol-Myers Squibb serving as President for their largest international business regions of Latin American, Canada, Europe, Middle East and Africa and he has also held executive management positions with several divisions of Johnson and Johnson. Barry has lived Internationally for over ten years and has an established a track record of sales, profit growth and strong managerial development. Barry holds a BS in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and served as a US Navy fighter pilot and flight instructor after graduation.

• Dr. Jeffrey Gau

  NeWave Board Member

  Dr. Gau is currently the President of WNC and holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from OSU. Given his experience in guiding WNC to its worldwide leadership position, Dr. Gau brings a wealth of business and technical experience to NeWave. He numerous global contacts within the related industry have been a significant enabler to achieving NeWave’s current level of success.

• Robert Burkholder PhD

  Dr. Burkholder received his PhD from The Ohio State University (OSU) in Electrical Engineering and has since that time has worked at OSU’s ElectroScience Laboratory where he is currently a Professor. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and a Full Member of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). Currently Dr. Burkholder is serving as Associate Editor for IEEE Antennas. Bob is based in Columbus, Ohio.

• Wei-Feng Tsai, MSE

  Wei-Feng received his Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a Major in Electromagnetics from The Ohio State University in 2011. Wei-Feng served as a Graduate Research Associate at OSU’s ElectroSciences Laboratory for four years studying novel RFID antenna designs. Wei-Feng has extensive experience in designing, prototyping, testing and installing item-level RFID solutions and taking these from the pilot test to broad scale real-world installation including developing software to control RFID hardware and wirelessly process the RFID inventory data to enable the end-user to easily visualize the full benefits of RFID solutions. Wei-Feng is fluent in Chinese and is based in Columbus, Ohio.

• Dennis Lee

  Dennis is a 2014 Dean’s List graduate of The Ohio State University with a BS degree in Biomedical Engineering. At a young age Dennis has developed a highly desirable technical experience including project management and programming experience with Python, Flask, Twisted, SQL, Websockets, JavaScript, HTML, ReactJS, and Linux/Unix. Dennis’ software experience includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, MATLAB, and SolidWorks. Dennis has also applied differential equations and mathematical models to biological systems and solutions using MATLAB. Dennis’ experience is of significant value given the diversity of industries incorporating RFID into their supply chain. Dennis joined NeWave in 2016 and writes server backend and frontend software and hardware interfaces. Dennis has been invaluable as NeWave consistently strives to simplify our solutions and move to steadily toward a state of “Plug and Play”. Dennis resides in Columbus, Ohio, is an Eagle Scout, fluent in Chinese and minored in music.

• Don Taylor, MBA

  Don holds a BS degree in Marketing from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and an MBA from the University of Dayton. Don joined NeWave in 2011 as Director, Business Development. Don brings over 35 years of marketing and business development experience in the Auto-ID and Security industries. Don’s previous experience includes marketing and indirect channel management positions with Sensormatic Electronics, Monarch Marking Systems and Mace Security. Don is based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

• Chris Elshaw

  Chris is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Revlon, Inc, a $2bn global corporation. With responsibility for the worldwide business Chris led Revlon to consistent growth in sales, profit and shareholder value. Prior to his 12-year tenure with Revlon, Chris held positions of increasing scope and responsibility with Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Clairol division, as General Manager for the UK, Spain as well as Central and Eastern Europe. Currently Chris is a member of several Boards of Directors and consults with numerous companies as a business advisor, as well as conducting due diligence on potential investments for several Private Equity firms. Chris is originally from the UK, is fluent in Spanish and currently resides in New York City.

• Micheal Lovsin

  Micheal is a highly experienced senior retail marketing executive with over 30 years of experience building retail sales with major North American retailers including Shopper’s Drug Mart, Ulta and Loblaws. Micheal is a frequent speaker at retail conventions and writes a popular blog and articles for the retail trade press. Micheal provides NeWave with a wealth of retail marketing knowledge as NeWave seeks to rapidly expand their presence in mass retail. Micheal was Coles Supermarkets General Manager for the Coles Brand in April of 2015 through mid-2017. Coles Supermarkets Australia Pty Ltd is one of the two biggest Australian supermarket chains, owned by Wesfarmers. Micheal currently resides in the Toronto, Ontario Canada area.

• Rob Hollin

  Rob has a proven career of highly successful, international executive business experience for 35 years, including 22 years internationally. Most recently he has completed 16 years operating in a global leadership role as International President leading all business outside of the USA for a $3bn subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. Prior to J&J Rob held senior executive positions in Sales and General Management with Bristol-Myers Squibb Consumer Products. With a total of 19 years in FMCG and 16 years in Healthcare, inclusive of General Management business leadership at country, region and Global board level for Fortune 100 companies, Rob offers a diversified wealth of experience and contacts. Rob is now about to complete a Masters Degree in Executive Coaching in Professional Business Management at Ashridge International Business School, UK. Rob resides in Oxford, England with his family.

• Charles “Chuck” Davin

  Chuck graduated from Concordia University, Montreal Canada in Finance with Honors and has a Certificate in Accounting from McGill University in Montreal. Chuck has held increasingly responsible financial positions with Kraft Foods and Bristol Myers Squibb to become Senior Director of Finance for the Americas, culminating in becoming General Manager ISPN, a Bristol Myers Squibb spin off division of Mead Johnson Nutritional in a joint venture with Almarai. Chuck has lived and worked in Canada, the United States, Philippines, Thailand and Saudi Arabia and he is fluent in English and French. Chuck seasonally residences between Montreal, Canada and Panama.
